Medicines have historically been treated as a cost to manage. This panel argued they should be treated as an investment.

At #NHSConfedExpo, I spoke to Claire Foreman (NHS England), Jacoline Bouvy (NICE) and Laura Angus (NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB) who discussed what that reframe means in practice: a Single National Formulary to reduce variation, NICE's evolving whole-life-cycle approach to guidance, and ICBs shifting from individual medicine costs to pathway-based outcomes.
