Ben Hannan provides executive leadership for strategic planning, system transformation and organisational performance, working across health and care partners to support sustainable services and improved population health outcomes.
In his current role Ben leads the development and delivery of major reform and transformation programmes, including NHS Fife’s Reform, Transform and Perform framework and the organisation’s financial recovery and operational improvement agenda. His portfolio spans strategic planning, corporate governance, system partnerships and performance management, supporting the Board to deliver national priorities and long-term service sustainability.
Ben is Chair of the NHS Scotland Directors of Planning network and previously chaired the East of Scotland Directors of Pharmacy group, supporting collaboration and shared improvement across regional partners. He also contributes to a number of UK professional and system leadership forums, including participation in national benchmarking networks and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society panel of Fellows.
A pharmacist by professional background, Ben previously served as Director of Pharmacy and Medicines. He is a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, and a graduate of the NHS Leadership Academy.
Ben has a particular interest in whole-system transformation, strategic planning and the role of professional leadership in shaping sustainable health and care systems.
